School is almost done time for some fun!

So my little people are almost done with school, yes they are still working on a few lingering assignments as I worry about what curriculum I will use next year for each of them

Here is a fun project that we started last year that I thought I would share with you.

I decided to make it a charm bracelet.

each charm will have an individual clasp to clip on the bracelet.

each charm was to be given to my daughter each day we were at Walt Disney World (R).

Hopefully we will be able to get the bracelet and finish it up soon.

Here is the full sheet of shrink paper printed out.

Don't worry it does look light.

 Here is the size of the charms before I and after shrinking compared to a quarter.

See when they shrink they will get darker.

 I use a heat gun to shrink this plastic, but you can use a toaster oven or your oven use as directed on the shrink plastic package.

 I also use a pair of tweezers to hold it. The small pieces will wiggle and twist up as they shrink, it is good to punch the holes before you shrink. DON'T FORGET THAT STEP! don't get the hole too close to the edge either or the hole will grow and possible not work for threading onto a charm.

 No fear these cute little things will settle down.

 I like to keep an acrylic block handy just in case there are a few little uneven lumps in the final charm.

Smash him down while he is still hot.

 I also thought why waste all those "extra" blank spaces of the shrink plastic, why not use them?

So out came the Mickey punch, and the Sharpie markers.

Oh and unless you want to burn your table, don't do this on your dining room table.

Now my table is made of 2x4's and we are going for the rustic and well used look.

Just a cute idea for a gift.

I found a pattern for ears, mouse ears.

I chose to use these ears in a different way.

I also made 2 small pink bows not a single red with white polka dotted bow.

Gorilla Glue is a favorite staple of mine.

I added the ears to a headband for a youngster of one of my friends.

This will be too cute, and feel "natural" to the young cutie, who wears these headbands daily with big bold flowers.

then simply hand stitched the bows onto the ears.

 How cute is that?

I cant wait to see that cute little Daisy pie wearing her ears!

Maybe I'll have to make her a tail too. ~Smiles

(I think this cutie's Mom thinks I am insane, but that is ok!)

Don't be afraid Paint it up!

Since I am in the top 5 at funky Junk for my table, I thought I would show you one of my other favorite pieces of furniture.

On Funky Junk's blog she is always saying to Just do it.

 If people tell you that you are crazy, and you love what you have who cares.

I wanted to share one of these pieces with you.

About 6 years ago I was looking for a "china cabinet"

I informed all of my family that they should keep their eyes peeled.

So I was taken to every little thrift shop to view these vintage antique pieces for big bucks.

I knew I wanted to "White Wash" this piece, and did not want to take "Granny Teacups" cabinet that I would'vee paid $500 for. (not to mention I did not have $500 to spend)

No one really understood what my vision was...

Until one day we were driving along and saw a man with a trailer full of "fence post furniture"

I LOVED it!

It was perfect!

Here is the little china cabinet I got.

It was made of old fence posts!

Pure fabulousness, except it wasn't the color I saw it in my head...

We even explained to the man who made it we were going to "white wash" it in green and purple.

Yes, EVERYONE said I was crazy.

These colors were the colors in  my daughters room at the time.

(We have moved 5 times since that house with the blissfully cute walls that are now a plain old boring light gray. Blek! If I find a pic. of the cute walls, without my cute little daughter taking up most of the picture, 

 I will post them)

So here it is...

 One of my favorite pieces to this very day.

Yes, I purchased it for some crazy amount of $$, 

(it was about $200, but EXACTLY what I wanted)

and I Green & Purple washed it.

According to family and friends I was going to "ruin it."

I Still Love it! to this day!

This is a picture of how it is used today in my Daughters room, with paper covered drawers to help organize a 6 year old girl as much as a 6 year old girl can be "organized."

 I might, being 6 years wiser try to build one of these,

but am still happy with this super "ruined" cabinet that was a great changing table and "grow with me piece."

Ok so I am supposed to be getting all prettied up for our family photo shoot,

(so my family can be immortalized in the church directory. I think goofy faces would be too fun... what do you think?) and be packin' up for my training trip to Disney World next week! (while you are reading this I will be trotting from resort to resort learning, and experiencing what I sell, so that I can help guide you as you make choices of where to stay and what to do while you are there.)

but I found this awesome website that offers a few free printables.

 (and I am sooo ADD it is not funny! ask my husband ~Smiles)

 So I am photo shopping some words to personalize them for a few treats to give to my fellow trainees that work for 3D Travel Company. I posted the picture above. I wrapped the image around snack size candy bars and they are CUTE! I also plan to punch a small hole in the sealed end and tie a thin ribbon to them and hang them as ornaments! How fun!

Here is another small project I am making.

I stamped initials of my coworkers on the notepads from Dollar tree to personalize them.

Then I added single serving Hot Chocolate, Christmas tea, Hawaiian punch, Starbucks VIA, and a pack of gum. Just a little something to get them through the week. and then I Disney-ified it! I added Mickey and a bow! I will be adding a personal message in the red squares on the front.

Who says that anyone is "too old" for treats at Disney?!

What a great idea this would be to personalize a teacher gift?

There is a Santa letter too, I will be giving to the kids to fill out and mount on scrapbook paper and maybe frame and hang up.

And there is also a matching Christmas list that I plan to fill out and hang up.

Holiday Magic card

I am participating in The Angel Company's Deck The Halls Blog Hop!

I have to admit I was a slight bit stumped, I have so many Christmas stamps, but when I moved last year I left them at my mothers house 5 hours away. I had to go through my stash, I had just ordered this set it aactually a Halloween set, but I loved this little girl. So here is to versatility!

I am so excited, This card is a Christmas card, Yet it is pink and green!

I wanted to bring the fun of pixie dust and magic into my card.

I started with a blank card and sponged the edges with a Palette pad in chartreuse.

I stamped the princess on white cardstock, and the Holiday magic stamp

on a More Mimi (TAC paper) Tag. 

I inked the edges of the tag with Palette Claret pad.

I colored the princess with Prismacolor pencils.

filled a test tube with glitter/ pixie dust.

I tied on a wand and the pixie dust to the card with a green bow!

I think that my little princess may find this magical card in her stocking this year.
