Japan, a good place to spend some time

Oh Dear! I posted this and it was supposed to post on the 29th of Oct.
So sorry! Finding pearls again.. Favorite past time. :)

Once again you can tell where we spent a good deal of our time in Epcot, we seem to love the Japan Pavilion! Bet you had no clue hu? Well yes again my daughter was able to get a pearl.

I also found a new kiosk in Downtown Disney that offers the pick a pearl experience. I did not get to watch anyone actually open a clam here, but I have to speak for the experience in the Japan Pavilion, and we obviously love it. (this is our 3rd time to do this) What do we love about it? We love the large variety of tanks from which we have to choose from.

We love the ladies that are behind the counter, they are all so sweet and very friendly. We love the crowds, yes, when you are the one that people are cheering for when you get a pearl, it makes it soo much cooler. We LOVE the show!

We love that you count down to the opening of the shell, then the suspense when the pearl is found, and  then the sizing of the pearl as they measure it and it seems they always start a few sizes too small so that you are excited to see it be bigger than you expected.

Then they show it to everyone, look at her pearl they say. Then they beat the little drum and have a little ceremony celebrating your find. The celebration right before ours was celebrating a double pearl, we have also seen black pearls too. All in all it is another one of our favorite experiences, yes it costs around $15 but it is worth the excitement and fun that comes with the experience. Let me know what you though tof it if you have tried this or if you are looking forward to trying your hand at  pearl picking.

Exploring Japan

Goodies galore in Japan Pavilion!
I have talked about our pearl discovery. Here is what else we found in Japan.

I was sooo excited to find these little treasures.

Do you know what they are?
They are big toe socks!
I am a queen of flip flops, chanklas, thongs, what ever you may call them.
Well these make a very practical purchase If you like me enjoy wearing your chanklas during the cool months of the year.
Needless to say I have a few pairs, and I have searched for these,
and have only found them here!

There is a kimono area in the store.

There is a beautiful wall of traditional fans

A great photo opportunity for a picture.

And of course Japanese candy!
Yum!
Even more on the Japan Pavilion soon!

Magical Memories in Epcot

Since i have been blogging about Japan for the last few days I figured I would share a memory from Japan.
We spent quite a bit of time in Japan this last September.
I enjoyed standing by this

It is the MAGICAL Rock Garden.
Trust me!
You need to stop and hang out here for a while, you might start seeing things on the rocks.
besides it is so cool to see all the circles in the gravel.
Do you see a hidden Mickey?
You need to check this one out for yourself.
I would Love to help you by booking your trip and sprinkling a little Pixie dust all around!

Yakitori House

We are back in the Japan Pavilion today to see what is offered as a quick service meal.

This is the Yakitori House in Japan.
A great place to stop for a meal.

This is what I got
it was a sushi combo meal with sushi,
Ginger cheesecake, and a drink

There is inside dining, we chose to eat outside during the drum show.
This show is super amazing to watch. There is so much energy and jumping around, and drumming, you really need to see it!

and amazingly will pop back in your head at the most random times.
I was drumming on my kitchen counters about a week ago. ~Smiles

Let me book your trip to Disney!
You too can come home and have an impromptu drum show in your kitchen with family looking on as if you were crazy!
It was that good!

The perfect pearl tradition

It was not until out 2008 trip to Epcot that we really looked inside the countries in the World Showcase.
There is so much there!
Here is one of our favorite spots!
Look what we found in Japan
There is a large tank of clams.
I know it sounds odd right?
You can pay fro a clam.
you will get a number.
Pick exactly which clam is calling your name.
then they call your number, you turn your number in and you show the nice lady which clam you want.

She will be sure to get your specified clam with a smile.

And, well you know this is Disney so there is a fun count down to the grand opening.

There is even a song and drum beating for special finds.

This pearl was a pinkish color

How proud this little princess is of her new pearl.
I love this because it is a forever thing.
You can even get your pearl put into a necklace or ring or even earrings

(This was our 2008 necklace)
What a great tradition!
