Questions answered at Animal Kingdom

The Animal Kingdom provides answers.

Cindy, Cindy, it is quite windy, Where do pineapples grow?

There was a question many in my family had, it was a silly question, almost posed as a bet of sorts.
Here is the question... Where do pineapples grow?
Do you know the answer?
Let me tell you how this question originated.
Before I was married my in laws took us on many trips to Mexico to shop and go fishing in South Texas. We lived in South Central Texas at the time and we drove through "the Valley" in South Texas to get to Progresso, Mex.
The Valley produces much of the Grapefruit in the US we used to see Valley Grown Grapefruit in Montana when we lived there.
The valley also has many fields of things popping out of the ground looking like the tops of pineapples.
What are these things?
So the argument was that Pineapples grow out of the ground, Or Do they grow from trees?
Finally a few years after this odd banter started we found the answer right before our eyes, where else but in The Animal Kingdom Park.

It Does appear to be a bush, Who was right? ground or tree?
I think we all won because we were at Disney World!

The fields in the Valley? they were full of many rows of AloeVera plants, not pineapples.

What questions do you have about life that may be answered at Walt Disney World?

A memory of my first trip to Walt Disney World

I have heard a photo is worth a thousand words.
I was a teenager on my first trip to Walt Disney World.
My eyes were opened to the magic that I had adored in Disney films and toys for many years.
The magic of the songs in films came to life around me it was not just a cartoon but a larger than life fantasy. It really does just seem like yesterday that Toy Story braved the new world of computer animation.
Disney has a way of making you feel like a kid again no matter how old you are.
It is an amazing memory to recall my first taste of Walt Disney World it was a truly magical experience.

The Good Son vs. the Ultimate Evil

Today we are hearing from my son about his Jedi experience.
It started one day at Disney World about 3 years ago.  Me and my family went to Disney Hollywood Studios.  We saw all kinds of different and unique attractions; for example: Fantasmic, The Twilight Zone’s Tower of Terror, and the Star Tours.  When we stopped at Star Tours, the crew for Stars Tours began to teach a few kids how to be a Jedi Knight!  The first day I wasn’t chosen, but the next day I was chosen!   Then we put on our Padawan robes and they taught me the average exercises for battling an enemy.

So I got my light saber and repeated what my Master taught me.  I was very nervous.  Just after, Darth Vader and his two clones came, and he challenged each and every Padawan to a duel.

When it was my turn, I did the fighting patterns my Master taught me:  hit the right shoulder, then the left, the right thigh, duck, hit the right thigh again, the left thigh, and hit the stomach.   But instead of hitting Vader’s stomach, I lunged at his neck.  Then Vader yelled out, “Aaargh!”  Then he left us because he thought we were too powerful.
In the end, I got a certificate stating that I have proven that I was worthy of being trained to be a Jedi Knight.  My mom and dad were proud.

Actually we haven't been kicked out yet!

To find other Magic Memory Monday posts from around the web, click here!

After one of my Husband's goofy posts this last week on Faceboook I had a friend comment
"You guys are the kind of people that get kicked out of a lot of places aren't you?"
(Notice she said "you guys" not Yall, nope shes not from TX!)
So he convinced my Sister in-Law to get in the trunk of her new car, to see if the child lock release thing worked...
Well it did, and all is well, she is no longer in her trunk.
As I was looking at my Disney Pictures I found these pictures.
I thought they went well with the quote above.

No we did not get kicked out.
And a battle of good and evil ensued right there in the store in Downtown Disney.

Ok, so maybe it was a battle of good, and good.
(green & blue)
Practice young Padawan, Practice!

There is a build your own Light saber buffet (as I would call it)
there are pieces and parts, to put together and build your
own weapon to defend good (or evil if you like)
Dad was a little slow at building his, and the attack began.
I wonder if they knew people like mine would have an
all out light saber war n the store when they put this in?

We definitely created a magic moment!

"Stay tuned" Next Magical Memory Monday...
you will see how this practice pays off in a Big way when we run into the Ultimate evil...

Time to Take the Plunge!

Today I am remembering the peaceful magic that Castaway Cay brings
This was the view from where we sat and ate breakfast as we docked.
Yes that is the real Flying Dutchman! And Yes I did see the real Jack Sparow!
After a picture with Jack, my first stop was the Pelican Plunge.
Remember this was all for the sake of training.
I wanted to be able to tell you my thoughts on this attraction ~smiles
This slide had just been opened, to think I was one of the first to enjoy this new slide.
And there will be many more of my clients on this slide too.
You must actually swim out the the platform. There are life jackets available for those who need them.
Be forewarned the water is DEEP you will not be able to touch the bottom.
As we swim out I took this picture.

Almost there, I cannot touch the bottom.
Not too shabby of a picture and I kept my head above the water too!

The view alone from the top platform is beautiful. looking back on one of the family beaches.
Here you have it.
This was actually taken from a video.
Apparently the video did not want to upload. But CLOSE YOUR EYES, or you will see this, and it isn't this pretty when the salt water, and makeup sunscreen mixture get in your eyes.
Well maybe it is this pretty, but I did not get to enjoy it until
I saw the picture because my little eyes were burning.
We took a ride to the Adult Quiet beach and look what we found.
 Clear water and peacefulness.
This is how I could spend every day!
Ahh...the Magic of Castaway Cay.
I think I hear it calling my name... Do you hear it calling yours?

Magical Memory Monday

So after a long day in Disney's Hollywood Studios park. We apparently had lots of energy to burn, maybe it was the sugar rush from the ice cream we got on the way out?
There was no sleeping on the way back to our home for the week at Coronado Springs Resort, in fact this little one was striking up conversations with everyone around her.
Doesn't this little face say fun?

earlier that day there was a bit of inspiration that led to the action packed evening.
Most of us think "wow lets go back to our resort room so our little heads can hit the pillow, and be ready for a full day again tomorrow."
This little girl had a different idea.
Can you guess what is was?

Now we Had been at Disney's Hollywood Studios earlier that day.
Dad had to get a very special wool hat.
We saw a very special action packed show.
Boulders, fire balls, swinging from ropes, and audience participation.
(yes you know the show)

Well it is a good thing that we weren't allowed fireballs in the room!
because we had a reenactment of all the jumping and tumbling from the show!

With Daddy's Hat and belt (her whip)

And of course her sidekick Mickey
she let all that Ice cream energy out!

Flying through the air and jumping from"snakes"

It was definitely a fun way to end a great magical day!
If you would like to stay at Disney's
Coronado Springs, and venture into the "Mayan ruins"
on your next Disney Vacation?
(the slide at the pool is so fun!)

I would Love to help you.

Magical Memory Monday

OK I have to say I am sorry, because not long ago Michele posted about the love her son has for Minnie.
So this is yet another Minnie post.

This was my daughters first trip to Disney World.
She had never seen anything like this in her short little life.
We were wondering what would happen when she saw the characters
would she be scared, would she cry?
would she run to them or from them.
a mother always wonders these things.
Yes we mothers "worry" about it all!
Well we got to the front of the line and...
She RAN as fast as her little legs would go.

It looks as if Minnie was almost a bit shocked at the quarter pint hurling herself at her.
but she is still smiling!

So she wouldn't step aside for her brother to take a picture,
so we snapped it with the two of them.
so now it was time to leave.
Ok with just a few pictures that I have chosen,
you really cannot tell we were with Minnie for about 5-10 minutes.
This little girl Loves Minnie!
who is your favorite?

Today this little girl is quite a bit bigger, and has been able to visit Minnie a few times.
If you would like to visit Minnie, for the first time, or for the 50th time I would love to help you.

Magical Memory Monday Oct.25,2010

Ok, so this is my first M.M.M. post, so I decided to dig into the archives and bring you a little comic relief.
(and with Halloween this Sunday, it seems a little more appropriate)
Note: a LITTLE more appropriate.
I do have to say the pictures pretty much speak for themselves.
Disney can transform ANYONE into their favorite princess, with a wig and a little pixie dust!
From young....
To old!
I would love to hear what princess you would like to be transformed into!
Post in my comments what you think of the red headed beauty !
Be sure to Follow the pixie trail for a very themed
Halloween Dinner with Dr. & Mrs Evil starting tomorrow!
